Manga I Started Immediately After Finishing the Anime

Manga I Started Immediately After Finishing the Anime

I wanted to share some manga that I started immediately after finishing the anime or the season on the anime, because I was realizing I’ve started so many for this reason!

The first manga I started after the anime was My Hero Academia. I watched the sixth season with my friends last year and when it was over we were talking about it, they had all read it and I needed more! I ended up reading it in about two days! I cried once, hawks is my favorite character if that gives you any clues. But overall I’m glad I caught up on it because this fandom loves spoilers and I’m glad nothing got revealed to me. I’m not loving where the manga is at currently, so I’m curious to see where the author is planning on taking it and how much longer it will go on. Overall hawks is my comfort character so I will watch and read anything he is in.

In a similar sense, I finished the JJK season and immediately read the manga in about two days. I also cried multiple times with this manga. I prefer Jujutsu Kaisen over MHA because I think the characters are more developed and I have more of a connection and attachment to them. Both art styles are really well done and I think both draw action scenes beautifully. I think the author of Jujutsu Kaisen has mapped out and planed his timeline really well so I’m very excited about where the manga is going to go moving forward.

A manga I started after the anime that I think isn’t mapped out well is Tokyo Revengers. I normally don’t like things involving time travel but decided to watch Tokyo Revengers anyway so when the season ended I started the manga in hopes of knowing how things went. From there I have been extremely disappointed and as we get down to the last four chapters I expect I’ll be disappointed in the ending as well. I am a huge fan of yakuza or mafia related mangas, but I felt like the author didn’t really make a road map for himself as he went on with the plot. There were times where all of a sudden it felt like he was lost and didn’t know where he was going or what he was going to do. I really like a lot of the characters, but I am disappointed in how he has used them in the plot. Honestly the only reason I’ve kept up is to see how he explains things and wraps things up.

This is more of an honorable mention because the anime is actually farther then the English translations of the manga. Kakuriyo bed and breakfast for spirits is one of my favorite animes. I love Odanna so much and the world the authors have created is beautiful. I love stories involving yokai, or Japanese spirits, and enjoy the mythology behind them. I’m sad this manga isn’t farther along because I don’t think this anime will get a second season any time soon. Fingers crossed it continues soon cause I need more odanna in my life.

Sasaki to Miyano is so so sweet. If you haven’t watched the anime I highly recommend it. Every episode had me smiling and giggling over these two. My favorite manga of all time is horimiya and watching this anime gave me the same feeling as when I watched it for the first time. Because of that I really wanted to continue the manga and see where things go. It’s been so adorable and it’s a great lighthearted thing to read. I can’t wait to watch the movie!

This is a manga I started before the anime is coming out and it’s called My Happy Marriage. I saw the trailer and I was hooked, when I read the description I needed more. It’s about a young woman who can see spirits through her mothers bloodline. Unfortunately her mother passes away at a young age and she is raised like a maid by her step mother and sister. When an offer for an arranged marriage comes in from a well known family who’s son is notorious for turning down brides, her family accepts thinking he’ll send her home. Much to their surprise he decides to move forward with their marriage and does his best to treat her well. The story is focusing on her gift and how he can help her learn more about it and her mothers family that she knows nothing about.

Like I said Horimiya is one of my favorite mangas of all time! The relationship between hori and miyamura is so healthy and is a nice relationship to read about! The characters also all experience their own growth which I adore. The “drama” in the manga doesn’t seem forced or unnecessary, it’s all very realistic and natural. I wish the anime had done a better job portraying the manga, because they left out so many amazing moments and scenes. It really rushed through the series when it could have been so popular otherwise.

I started reading SpyxFamily as the series began coming out. Both the show and the manga are really sweet and easy to consume. I like to read or watch them when I’ve had a long day and can’t really handle anything else. I’ve been enjoying it so much and definitely will continue too.
