Traditional Meets Modern
One of my favorite things about Japan is that they have not lost their culture and traditions. When you walk around Tokyo you are surrounded by the modern city but throughout it you can still find pieces of older traditions. I wish in the US we had more of that, like in New York. It's one of the reasons I fell in love with Tokyo.
Some area's of the city still have older more traditional styled houses with younger families living in them. It's really nice to see that these older styled houses are still around.
I also love how there are so many shrines throughout Tokyo. It's really amazing to be able to see the temples and shrines surrounded by office buildings and shopping areas.
