Kyoto: The Golden Pavilion
I know a lot of people going to Japan or to Kyoto will know about this place but I wanted to share my experience of going to the Golden Pavilion. It's absolutely stunning but be prepared it's going to be extremely crowded because of how much of a tourist spot it is. After seeing the main area make sure to walk around in the garden areas because they're really calming and a good place to hide from the sun in the summer.
This was the main thing we did while we were in Kyoto and we were only there for a day. I wish I had gotten the chance to see some other more local things in Kyoto. I wish we could have gone to the Fushimi Inari Taisha. The red tori gates. If I go to Kyoto again I'll go there early in the morning and go to more pottery stores and stuff.
