Starbucks New Year Items and Drink
So the day after Christmas starbucks switched everything for New Years. The big thing in Japan is New Years, a lot of businesses are closed starting the 28th through the 3rd so I wouldn’t recommend coming to Japan during this time. A lot of people are also traveling away so Tokyo will not be very busy. Most people stay home with their family on New Years and wake up early to go to the Shrines for good luck.
Starbucks did come out with a lot of different seasonal cups and bottles for New Years. This is the year of the pig, which is my zodiac, so I love seeing it all.
Along with all of the new cups and bottles they have a new seasonal drink. It is Goma flavored, which is sesame in Japanese. It is so strange for me because I cook with sesame seed oil so having it in a frapachino or coffee is weird.
But the curious mind of mine wanted to try it! I got the hot one because I didn’t think I’d like the cold one. It was ok I’d give it a 6/10. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. I thought it just tasted like coffee but with a hint of something. Not really sesame but I tasted a fire taste. Like when you eat something that was cooked over a fire there is that aftertaste of fire, it tasted like that aftertaste.
They also had some goma breads and pastry’s but I did not want to try those. Would you try these? If you have let me know what you thought of them!
