My Favorite Japan Instagram Accounts
When I first went to Japan when I was in high school I didn’t really know that many people on social media who were living in Japan. Even when I went to study abroad in university in Japan I was still searching for people to follow on instagram or youtube who showed everyday life and not just the extraordinary places or tourist attractions.
Here is my list, in subsections, of my favorite instagram and you tubers in Japan. None of these photos are mine they’re just screenshots from everyones Instagrams.
Photography and Culture
Food and Drinks
These are some of my favorite food bloggers in Japan. They cover different restaurants and cafes around Tokyo.
She also has a personal blog, which I have listed down below, but I put her on this list because she highlights a lot of vegetarian and vegan restaurants and cafes on her page.
She has a great food blog that also has a mixture of personal daily life in it. But the thing I really love is her Tokyo Food Socials. If you’re new to Japan and want to try new food and meet new people I would rsvp to one of her monthly events.
I am a bit biased because this is my friends instagram page but I still think it is so helpful. He highlights not just Japanese restaurants in Japan but also different world foods. So if you are really craving a good burger or southern comfort food check out his page for advice and suggestions.
This instagram highlights different coffee shops around Tokyo and I love it! I didn’t find this until I got back from Japan but I’m already saving so many of them for inspiration for my next trip.
Lifestyle and Daily Life in Japan
The Bunny tokyo as you saw above has a food page as well but she shows different cultural experience in Tokyo and has the cutest dog and bunny.
The Tokyo Chapter is absolutely amazing. If you are moving to Japan you need to go through her blog for advice. If you are moving there with kids you really need to check her out. Even if you are just visiting with kids you need to check her out because she does an amazing job giving advice on that. She has a series about highlighting different neighborhoods in Tokyo and how to navigate them with kids.
Jen and Arianna are best friends in Tokyo and the two of them show the realities of living in Japan as a foreigner and what daily life looks like. They’re both married to Japanese husbands which I think they also give an interesting perspective on that. Jen also has a youtube channel where she vlogs and highlights travel and food in Japan.
