Holiday Gift Guide 2020
I know this year is very strange for the holidays, some of us are not gathering with our loved ones, some of might not be as financially stable as in the past. I know this year my finances and my budget for presents is going to be lower but I still want to get my family and friends quality presents.
I know there are a million gift guides out there right now so I hope you like this one. What are you thinking for gifts this year? I’d love to know!
Flowers
I personally think sending someone flowers is such an underrated present! I love to send a hand written note in a christmas card along with flowers to people on christmas and other holidays. Especially when my grandmas were alive. I think if you are unable to be near your family this year sending flowers is a nice way to brighten their day and make them smile.

Books
I think gifting someone a book is a really great gift. Also I always buy my books used on amazon and pretty much every book I’ve gotten looks brand new for about $3 to $10. I think you could order the books used to you and then wrap them yourself and check the quality.
Here are some books I would recommend gifting and also what books I’ve loved recently.
I haven’t read Obama’s new book but I really want to and I hope someone gets it for me this year. I did read Michelle Obama’s book and it was so good! I highly recommend reading it or gifting it to someone.
I don’t have a favorite book but these are my top two books right now. I love them so much! Pachinko is such a beautiful story and it really resonates with me because it’s very similar to my husbands families story. I also love the night tiger and I’m actually about to reread it because it was so good.
I go back and reread this book and certain parts of it to inspire me. It’s a book to make you feel creative and inspire you.
Since we can’t travel this book will transport you to a mysterious adventure. It is also so beautifully illustrated. I highly recommend it for the traveler in your life who is itching to travel
This book is so beautiful and incredible! It is a book of all the words that were removed from the dictionary— which is insane to me! Why do we need to remove words from the dictionary to make room for new ones (like vlog)? Why can’t the dictionary expand!
Either way this book is beautifully illustrated and so beautiful to read. It’s on my coffee table and my guests, precovid, loved to read it and flip through it. I would recommend this to someone in your life who loves art!
A Game
I have never played this game but I follow their instagram and I think it is such a cool game! It’s like a deep thinking deep conversation starter. It’s similar to cards against humanity but I think now that we are in lockdown this would be a good gift for people. Especially couples quarantined together.
This is also on my wishlist.
Tech
I love polaroid cameras— I have this one and two other models and love them all! I think this gift is something that will last a really long time because you can create memories and save them with this forever.
I think that this is such a practical gift and it is on my wishlist. I hate! washing my brushes and I think that this would be a great thing for a young girl or makeup lover in your life because it is so convenient.
I personally get really bad cramps and migraines and I use these hot pack things often. I also use these in the winter when I’m cold or at my desk in the office in the summer when the ac is high. I have a few from other brands but I thought these were so cute! I have like three of these but now I want the rilakkumma and the shiva inu!
Also bonus these cable bites would be cute!
With the way the world is right now and the way that it is moving forward— I think this is a really practical gift to give someone. I’m planning on getting this for my dad because he works in an office and is constantly putting his phone down places. I think it could be a great gift for your family.
Also amazon has a wide range of prices on these from $20 to $200 so it’s good for all budgets
Now that we are working from home I think things for people’s desks is a good idea. Maybe a stand for your laptop so your neck doesn’t hurt. Or maybe a little diffuser that connects to your laptop. Personally typing on a keyboard like this would motivate me to work more. I really want this keyboard or one similar. I love this sound and think it is so calming.
Etsy
First of all I love etsy and I love to shop small as much as I can especially around the holidays. So here are some things I want to get for my family and myself at some point.
I saw this on instagram and really wanted to get this for my husband and I with photos of our wedding this year. Boys this would be a sweet gift for your wife or girlfriend. I also think it would be a great gift for someone you know who got married recently or someone who had a big event.
These are so beautiful! I want to get my mom one of these. This artist also has ones that are animals for kids, christmas theme ones, or winter snowflake ones. I think these are so beautiful and unique!
My favorite thing to find on etsy are graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts. I think you can find them for any subject or theme. Someone likes sports, harry potter, marvel, anime they have it all and at lot’s of affordable prices.
If you want to splurge on someone there are a lot of really good leather workers on etsy and getting someone a quality bag like this that’s a staple would be a good gift.
I also love to get artwork on etsy especially because some of these sellers will also put a frame in it, for a little more but still. Similar to the t-shirts I think its great for multiple interests. I know my husband and I want both of these. We are debating right now about whether the stars one should be the day we met or the day we got married.
Beauty/Skincare
Sephora collection is one of my favorite makeup brands to shop from. I love both of these lip products above, which would be a really cute stocking stuffer or bundle gift. I know we’re not all wearing alot of lip products but these could be good for zoom and all that.
Also these little eyeshadow pallets are so good! I have the neutral one and the one with the colors and they’re great!
If you want to spend a little more one someone who likes makeup this could be a good idea. I love this palette and really want it. I think it could be good for a makeup lover.
