My Top 10 Anime’s of 2021
Here is a round up of my top ten anime’s of 2021. Not all of these are Anime’s that we’re released last year, because honestly there weren’t that many I truly loved. I’m excited about the new year of anime to come!
10. bakkuten!! Or Backflip was a cute sports anime that came out in 2021. I wasn’t the biggest fan of it, honestly the pacing could have been better planned but compared to the other 2021 Anime’s I preferred it. It’s about a men’s rhythmic gymnastics team. The seniors on the team are actually the reason I kept with the show, they were really funny.
9. I’ve been watching and reading My Hero for a while now. I think out of all the seasons this one is my favorite so far. It has a lot more meat to it than the past seasons and we’re getting into the villains now, which I find most interesting. I also love that there’s more hawks in this season, since he’s the reason I started.
8. Hanasaku Iroha didn’t come out this year but I did watch it and the movie. They both were really interesting. It’s about a girl from Tokyo who moves in with her grandmother at her Inn in the countryside. I really liked seeing the behind the scenes of running and owning a traditional inn.
7. Heaven Officials Blessing is a Chinese anime that’s on Netflix that is so amazing! It’s about to get a second season and I can’t wait to watch it. The animation is so beautiful and the story is really entertaining. I think I finished in about 3 days.
6. Mo Dao Zu Shi is another Chinese anime that is really good. Both have themes involving magic, ghosts and are both set in a historical period. I think this one is a bit darker but both are really entertaining.
5. I wasn’t expecting to watch Tokyo Revengers or even like it but I became hooked! I really watched it for mikey and draken. I loved watching about the gang and how it was formed. I definitely watch it for the side characters because I don’t enjoy time travel related shows.
4. Sk8 the Infinity was such a cute anime to watch! I loved all the characters, except Adam, and really enjoyed the story. I would love to see a side season or movie about young joe and cherry. It’s a really cute skateboarding anime and follows langa and reikis friendship, I think they’re in love but that’s just me.
3. The Case Study of Vanitas is absolute amazing! It’s got vampires and a little magic. It’s set in historic France following Vanitas and Noe. Vanitas is a mixture of Dazai from Bungou, Gojo from JJK and a little bit of Howl. I’m so excited because the second season or second part of this just started and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
2. And probably tied for 1 was the anime adaptation of my favorite manga Horimiya. The manga is much better than the anime and goes more in depth but I love hori and miyamura so so much. I loved seeing how they both grew and developed as characters, even each of the side characters showed growth which I find very rare in mangas or anime
Number one definetly has to be fruits Basket. The original was my first anime and introduction into the world of anime so seeing them remake it was amazing. I loved all three seasons but personally think the third was a tad rushed. It would have been nice if it had been just a few episodes longer but they wrapped it up nicely. I’m excited to see the special with Tohrus parents.
