Room Tour: College Room
I can't believe I only have a month left of my college life! I've been really loving the room I'm living in this year, I think may favorite room of all four years. I applied for special senior housing where I have my own bathroom and the room is super big. Not everyone gets it so I'm so happy that I got it.
When I moved it though it was horrible! The tiles on the floor are orange... I'm not sure who made that decision but it was a bad idea. The dressers, which you'll see below, were also on the wall my bed is now on and my bed was under the window... I think I finally got it my room to be the way I want it to be so I thought I'd share.
So I hate having white walls! And this big white wall needed something. I've had this tapestry for four years! I got it on sale at Urban Outfitters and love it! Even thought I'm not supposed to have it... I hang it with shower curtain rings that clip it to the command hooks
So this is my room from the door way. I got the fluffy white carpet at Costco with a coupon three years ago. It's actually not that hard to clean, I shake it outside and then just vacuum it. I got the black and white rug at target for $20 this year cause I couldn't stand the tiles or walking on tiles.
The dressers under the windows were where the bed was when I moved in. I switched them so I could put my stuff on the dressers and the windowsills. And it was really weird under the window cause the dresser drawers couldn't open very well cause the bed was in front of them.
I have my clothes in the dresser on the left and the one on the right is filled with random things... I brought a lot of stuff with me..... but I use all of it. The one window has my nail polish and some crystals on it. And under it I keep my skin care and my laptop.
I also have a projector that I got for my birthday on it cause the wall across from my bed is white and perfect for the projector. The other window has things like room spray, face masks, and nail polish remover. Under it I keep my blender and proteins and my matcha. I cook or make myself food in my room cause I have a weird diet recently.
When I moved in there was a bit of an empty space next to my dresser and my desk. There is also only one bad light on the wall in my room, it's so bad it barely lights up the room. So I got the standing lamp and the chair at target. I do most of my reading in the chair and it's perfect for when I have people over.
I also have lots of polaroids and pictures up because I hate having blank white walls. It makes me feel like it's empty and sad.
So I don't really use my desk as a desk, it's more of a snack and food storage place. I also have my fridge next to it with my cooking and tupperware on it. I take a lot of food from my schools cafeteria so I can make things in my room like sandwiches or salads.
The reason for this room is to work on my thesis so most of the time I take a lot of food and make it in my room so I can just keep working. I do a lot of writing in my bed on a pop up table desk.
Finally, the most glorious and my favorite thing is my bathroom. I have my own shower with a tub and a toilet. I love having this! It makes me so so happy to have. I hated sharing bathrooms with the people on my floor cause they never kept it clean and they wouldn't respect you showering and would come in and brush their teeth or pee, the showers were in stalls by the way. I just felt so uncomfortable so I am so happy to have a bathroom.
I hope you enjoyed a tour of my room and got some inspiration for your dorm room. I can't wait though to graduate and live in a house. While I was in Japan I lived with my boyfriend at the end of my stay. I'm trying to get back to Japan for work and I'll live with him and I can't wait to decorate!
