Guide to Vintage Shopping in Tokyo: By Area and Luxury Goods

Guide to Vintage Shopping in Tokyo: By Area and Luxury Goods

I personally have found that thrifting in Japan and Tokyo to be really amazing, because there is a high standard for quality a lot of what you find can be more expensive than in the US but it is most always practically new. This is true also when it comes to luxury goods. When looking at designer bags or items second hand in Japan they are very well kept and taken care of. It can be overwhelming though to figure out where to start looking so I decided to make a list of places I know have good vintage finds.

First you should know of a few chains like Chicago and Flamingo are two stores you will be able to find in multiple places all over the city. I have found some really amazing Hawaiian shirts and vintage t-shirts at these stores. They also have vintage kimonos and yukatas in some of them.

Shinjuku:

I don’t typically go to Shinjuku because I find the area hard to maneuver and hard to get around so I don’t really shop there. However, Shinjuku is known for having more expensive luxury goods. If you take your time to explore the vintage second hand scene you will find other places with cheaper designer bags. But if you’re in shinjuku here are some places to check out that aren’t only luxury

  • Komehyo

  • 2nd Street

  • Bring
