All of the drama descriptions have come from the website Asian wiki so you can look them up there for more details.

Lifestyle Dramas

Run On came out in 2020 and I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. A love story between Ki Seon-Gyeom and Oh Mi-Joo.Ki Seon-Gyeom was once a popular sprinter for the national team. Due to a case, he quit the sport. He then begins to work as a sports agent. Meanwhile, Oh Mi-Joo writes subtitle translations for movies. She was thrilled when she first she her name as a translator during the end credits. She meets Ki Seon-Gyeom, who just quit being a sprinter. She feels they were destined to meet.

This drama was super cute and sweet. I loved both the main couple and the side couple, which is very rare for me! And I loved how the second female lead wasn’t trying to steal the main male lead away! They story was really well done and I loved all the actors

Navillera came out in 2021 and I cried so much at this beautiful story! It was such a touching story and I cried a few times. So if you want a good cry this is a good one

I wanted to like Itaewon Class more than I did. I love Park Seo Joon as an actor but could not stand the female leads character. I never once could root for her or like her. I know a lot of people really loved this drama which is why I’m still recommending it because I did finish it unlike other popular drams, like crash landing on you.

My Shy Boss came out in 2017 and I honestly forgot about it until I saw it on Netflix. It’s a really cute romance kdrama set in an office setting.

Cha Eun-Ho is a genius writer and the youngest chief editor ever at his publishing company. He is smart and handsome. He is also even tempered at work, but he has a warm heart and a reasonable personality. Kang Dan-Yi used to be a popular copywriter, but she is not anymore. She is now broke and unemployed. Even though she tries to find a job, due to her impressive career and excellent educational background, she is unable to find a new job. Finally, Kang Dan-Yi gets a job at a publishing company by lying about her background. Cha Eun-Ho is the chief editor at that publishing company. They begin to develop romantic feelings for each other.

I know some people didn’t like the heirs because it reminded them of boys over flowers but I loved it! It has a great casting line up with Lee Min Ho and Kim woo bin, my favorite, and Park Shin Hye. Theyre all incredible actors and did an amazing job! I also love the actress who played Shin hye’s mom

"The Heirs" depicts the friendships, rivalries and love lives of young, rich heirs led by Kim Tan (Lee Min-Ho) and a girl named Cha Eun-Sang. Unlike the others, Cha Eun-Sang is considered ordinary and comes from a poor background.

Fantasy Dramas

Mystic Pop up Bar is a really sweet short drama with only 12 episodes but I was so sad when it ended and wished it had been longer!

Ssanggab Cart Bar opens only at night on the rooftop of a building. Wol-Ju runs the mysterious food cart. Customers who visit Ssanggab Cart Bar consist of normal people and the dead. While drinking alcohol and eating dishes with Wol-Ju, the customers of Ssanggab Cart Bar talk about themselves and try to heal their internal wounds.

The Bride of Habaek is such a good fantasy romance drama! I loved the actors and the story was very well done. A romance takes place between Ha Baek, the god of water and and Psychiatrist So-A, who mistakes him for one of her patients.

A Korean Odyssey is a really good fantasy romance drama involving different spirits and creatures who have lived for ages.

In 2017, Son O-Gong and Woomawang are in conflict with each other and they look for a true light in a dark world where evils exists everywhere. The Female lead is able to see ghosts and spirits and uses that skill to her advantage by going into realestate selling properties that are viewed as haunted.

Because of a war between mafia groups, he flees to South Korea. In South Korea, he gets involved with Lawyer Hong Cha-Young. She is the type of attorney who will do anything to win a case. Vincenzo Cassano falls in love with her. He also achieves social

When the Camellia Blooms is a much darker drama and surrounds a murder mystery. It also talks a lot about the struggles of being a single mother in korean society, where it is extremely frowned upon.

Dong-Baek is a single mother living in the small town of Ongsan. She runs the bar-restaurant Camellia, while also taking care of her son Pil-Gu. The people of Ongsan frequently gossip about Dong-Baek. She grew up as an orphan, is a single mother and runs a bar where many of the men in Ongsan frequent. Regardless of what the locals may whisper about Dong-Baek, local police officer Hwang Yong-Sik is deeply in love with her. Meanwhile, Dong-Baek's ex-boyfriend Kang Jong-Ryeol suddenly reappears in her life. He is a famous baseball player, that hid their relationship when they dated. While Dong-Baek tries to find happiness, something truly sinister lurks in the background. A serial killer roams Ongsan and Dong-Baek may be a target.

I mainly started My Mister because IU was in it and I really enjoyed her drama Hotel Del Luna and wanted to see her earlier work. IU is known for her beautiful singing voice so I wasn’t expecting much but she proved her acting talent in this role!

A man in his 40's withstands the weight of life. A woman in her 20's goes through different experiences, but also withstands the weight of her life. The man and woman get together to help each other. This is an incredible platonic relationship drama and I highly recommend it

It’s ok not to be ok quickly became my number one drama! Talking about themes not talked about in korean dramas or society around the world often. IONTO Talks a lot about mental health and and is absolutely incredible. A road to emotional healing opens up for an antisocial children's book author and an employee in a psychiatric hospital.

A story about a man employed in a psychiatric ward and a woman, with an antisocial personality disorder, who is a popular writer of children's books. Moon Kang-Tae works in the psychiatric ward. His job is to write down the patients' conditions and to deal with unexpected situations, like if patients fight or they run away. He only earns about 1.8 million won (~$1,600 USD) a month. The woman is a popular writer of children's literature, but she is extremely selfish, arrogant and rude.

Historical Dramas

There aren’t that many historical dramas on netflix I really love but Mr. Sunshine made me cry!

During the United States expedition to Joseon (South Korea) in 1871, a boy from Joseon boards an American warship and goes to America. As an adult, he returns to his home country as an American soldier stationed in the country. It’s a beautiful historical drama and I highly recommend it

Let me know if you watch any of these and what you think! And if I missed any on netflix let me know what I should watch!
